International Properties

New functionality to Property Sell is the ability to browse UK or International Properties for sale separately. Click on the link in the main menu to toggle between International and UK properties.

How Does This Work?

Property sell was initially designed for the UK market specifically people in the UK who want to sell their property themselves saving a considerable sum in estate agency fees and using the power of the internet to market the property for them through propertysell. When you first visit the site we assume that you want to view UK properties only, so unless you use our advanced search and specify another country, every property you see will be from within the UK only. Toggle to international properties and the opposite will be true, you will only see properties from outside the UK. Easy.

Registration

In order to take full advantage of all the features Property Sell has to offer you will first need to register. Registration is not required but you will be able to see from the feature list below that it is recommended.

• List Your Own Properties!

  Sign up with us for free and you can list your own properties, for free, with no obligation or catch! See the help topic Listing a Property for more information.

• My Saved Properties

  Save your properties in your own personal listing which is always available to you, add and remove properties from your saved listings at will. No limit to the number of properties you can save.

• Recently Viewed Properties

  Every time you view the full details of a property that listing is stored in your last viewed properties, but as soon as you close your browser these properties will be lost. Log in and these properties will be stored so that they are available no matter when you come back to the site or on what computer you come back on.

• Distance Information & Maps

  When you register you provide us with your postcode which allows us to calculate the approximate distance between you and the property you are viewing (if the property is in the UK). You also gain access to a map of the area showing where the property is situated.

Listing a Property

Before adding a property to property sell you must register, this ensures that any prospective buyers for your property can reach you.

Once you have registered you simply need to fill out the add property form in your account section, where you need to supply details of your property for sale.

What information do i need to list a property?

We require the following information about your property to ensure the quality of properties for sale remains consistent, and your property for sale reaches and is appealing to as many buyers as possible.

• Property Title

  A few words to grab the buyers attention, a title is required to list your property and must be no more than 255 characters long, short and punchy is the key here, make sure your property stands out from the crowd.

• Location

  If you provide us with a postcode then we can show registered users how far away your property is from them (only applies to properties listed in the UK). Also please ensure that you select the country in which your property is located, and if regions for that country can be found, the appropriate region too. This will allow users to find your property much easier, and our system will not allow you to add your property until you select the appropriate options.

• Property Description

  All properties listed on propertysell must have a description to enable the property to be listed. We recommend spending a little time researching what information you would like to convey to prospective buyers as a well written, informative description of your property can greatly improve interest and the subsequent sale of your property.

• Pictures of your house!

  Enhance your listing with a picture of your property, you can add up to 4 pictures with your property listing completely free, please ensure that all images uploaded are less than 3000 pixels wide or high and are of a file size of less than 1.5 meg, acceptable files include .jpg, .jpeg and .gif images, any image that does not fit this criteria will cause the listing to be rejected. Our software automatically resizes your images so adding massive images will only cause you slow uploads and the possible rejection of the image.

  We recommend a selection of internal and external pictures of your property as buyers may be unwilling to travel far to view a property if they do not know what it looks like beforehand!

Buy a property

If you have seen a property you like the look of through property sell, you can contact the owner directly from the property listing page. Property Sell do not get involved in the sale of a property, although we would love to hear from our customers who have sold or bought a property through Property Sell, and don't forget to remove your listing when your house is sold so it doesn't clutter up our site.

Technical Issues

During our recent site upgrade we have completely re-built the entire website from the ground up, adding new functionality and new security measures along the way, some of which require a certain features from your browser, cookies. Cookies are small files that are stored on your computer in order to store information about you and your browsing experience.

As in the past our site does not require cookies to browse the site, although certain functionality and some advanced features will not function without cookies enabled. If you do not have cookies enabled or would like to make sure that you have we have a detailed set of instructions on how to enable cookies.

Security

In order to protect your security we have ensured that no sensitive data is stored in these cookies, in fact the only thing that is stored in your property sell cookie is a reference which allows us to keep track of your progress and settings.

Other Issues

Due to the sheer scale of property sell and the relatively small team of technical engineers we are unable to test every possibility with every browser on every single possible hardware, therefore we cannot exclude the possibility of the site malfunctioning. Even though we have gone to great lengths to ensure this will not happen, if it does please contact us and tell us who you are, what error you found, and exactly how you caused the error. We will then be able to isolate the cause of the error and fix it for future users.
