FOR SALE: Shared ownership one bed flat in Northampton Town Centre.
I am selling my beautiful 1 bed flat. I bought my flat brand new in 2006 from Leicester Housing Association. This is a shared ownership scheme so I have bought 50% and pay rent on the other half to the Association. Rent works out at about £210 a month and that includes your service charge for the communal areas.
The flat is on the 10th floor, there is a lift and it works with a security fob so you can only ever go to your own floor - there is also CCTV on every floor. The flat itself has a long hallway that 1st of all leads to a large utility room where I used to keep a chest freezer and other bits and pieces in. Next is the bathroom which is a very good size, it comes with white suite and an attached shower pipe over the bath. The bedroom is huge and has plenty of room for a double bed, 2 wardrobes etc. There is a TV aerial cable in there drilled in from the outside aerial and 2 double sockets at each end. There is a big UPVC

window with great views.
The lounge/kitchen is massive, all the units and white goods (Inc oven and hob) are included and there is wood flooring down. The lounge is beautiful and has a floor to ceiling window which gives you amazing views over the countryside. Next to the kitchen is the balcony which over looks the town centre. All carpets and curtain rails are included.
Everything in the house is electric and the water is metered, which I have found to be a lot cheaper.
There is an entry system in the hallway which allows you to buzz your guests into the waiting lobby and there is a secure car park you can park in for £5 a week, alternatively you can get a council permit for £25 that last a year.
With the shared ownership scheme you can buy an extra 10% or more every year so you could own it outright.
It was my 1st home and without this scheme I would never have been able to get on the property ladder as I didn’t have a deposit. I would recommend this scheme and flat to anyone wanting to make their 1st home purchase.
